Kersten v.2

by Kerstin Egenhoffer

In 2006, the Malawi government initiated a Social Cash Transfer program to assist the around half of the Malawian population who live below the national poverty line. A mixture of NGOs and government ministries are investing in this Social Cash Transfer program with the hope that it will address numerous poverty problems such as bad health outcomes, an overburden education system, and serious cracks in the infrastructure. The evaluation of the program remains to be seen.
